Research Seed Grants
The Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies at Brown University’s Watson School of International and Public Affairs is now accepting applications for human rights and humanitarian research grants.

Funding Amount: Up to $4,000
Eligibility:
The following individuals are eligible to apply:
- Brown University Undergraduate Students (Must list a Brown faculty as a mentor/advisor)
- Brown University Graduate Students
- Brown Postdoctoral Fellows and Research Associates
Duration: Research should be conducted over a period of 4-12 weeks between May 15 and August 31, 2026
Application Requirements
- Name, affiliation, & contact info
- Summary of proposed research (no more than 300 words)
- Total amount requested
- Full description of proposed research protocol (rationale, goals and objectives, methodology, collaborations, ethical considerations)
- Dissemination plan (brief description of expected scholarly output)
- Detailed budget (please include other sources of received or anticipated funding)
- Timeline for proposed research
- CVs/Resume
Application Deadline: March 2, 2026.
