Education
Core Training
CHRHS strives to reimagine the education and training of the next generation of humanitarian and human rights researchers, educators, and responders. Here we highlight training initiatives that are being carried out and managed by CHRHS.
Training Seed Grants
CHRHS annually funds training initiatives through our Seed Grant program. These grants go towards the development of new curriculum, workshops, and simulation-based learning, both within existing institutions and as a kick-starter for independent initiatives.
Hack for Humanity
An annual humanitarian focused hackathon at Brown University that brings together students to learn about the most pressing needs in the human rights and humanitarian sphere and develop creative ideas for innovative programs or technologies that could help improve the lives of disaster and conflict affected communities around the world.
Student Clinic for Immigrant Justice
The Student Clinic for Immigrant Justice (SCIJ) partners with the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies at Brown University to train students to provide legal services to asylum seekers and organize for immigrant justice.
Student Internships
CHRHS strives to fuse education and research to on-the-ground action by connecting students with experts through internships at top humanitarian and human rights organizations. Each year, qualified students are invited to apply for internships with one of our pre-identified partner organizations.
