The Aid Worker Security Group explores the range of challenges facing humanitarian aid workers and medical responders in complex emergencies - including attacks by militaries, non-state armed groups, law enforcement, and criminal actors - within a broader context of threats to health, inclusivity, and the erosion of humanitarian norms. This group considers the future of aid worker security at the operational level during the era of strategic competition as well as proactively addressing challenges to inclusivity in aid worker security and the role of technology in aid worker security such as humanitarian notification systems.
