Alaaddin Salih

Associate Research Fellow, National Academy of Health Sciences, Sudan

Biography

Dr. Alaaddin Salih is an Associate Research Fellow at the National Academy of Health Sciences in Khartoum, Sudan. Soon after he received his medical qualification and training, he launched his distinguished career in academia as a Research Associate at National Academy of Health Sciences beside his appointment as a faculty member and clinical duties. Dr. Salih’s research themes include all areas related to precision public health, particularly means of studying general measures and improving socio-medical outcome in a global context. His scientific contributions include publications in a number of leading peer-reviewed journals and presenting at many international conferences. Dr. Salih has received numerous grants and funding. He has been honored in many occasions, receiving awards from North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. An indispensable part of his persona is civic engagement and leadership. He received advanced training in the US, Kenya, Qatar, etc. Additionally, he has previously collaborated with international and national organizations, and his network includes governmental agencies, NGOs and civil community partners. He has also established a vibrant organization which aims to bridge gaps in services provided to populations heavily struck by conflicts in warzones. Given the current crises in the Middle East and East Africa, he has recently shifted his scope more towards leveraging innovative technologies in controlling epidemics, like Cholera, through affordable cutting-edge health intelligence techniques. Dr. Salih has, therefore, garnered the set of skills and experiences needed to sharpen his saw and stand ready to fulfill his commitments as a HI2 International Fellow. When off from work, he treats himself through reading, socializing and relaxing.
