Biography
James N. Green is the Carlos Manuel Céspedes Professor of Latin American Studies, the Director of the Brown Brazil Initiative, and the Executive Director of the Brazilian Studies Association. He has authored or co-edited eleven books on Latin American and Brazilian History, including We Cannot Remain Silente: Opposition to the Brazilian Military Dictatorship in the United States. Green also directs the Opening the Archive Project that has digitized, indexed, and made available on an open-access website, 40,000 U.S. government documents on Brazil and the Dominican Republic during the height of the Cold War.
